How is parent communication handled?
There will be multiple methods of communication with parents about their child’s progress at The Crawford School.
There will be daily updates using the Class Dojo app. Through this app parents will see pictures and descriptions of activities we are working on. This will also be where parents can send messages and ask any questions through out the day.
Another form of communication will be progress reports, don’t worry there are no grades here. These are just used to let you know the progress your child is making. A big part of Montessori Education on my part is observation, so I’m able to cater to their new needs as they master more skills. So I want to also make sure you are up to date with their goals and successes as they change. Along with this, you will get a schedule of what the month ahead will look like. At the beginning of the year you will receive a full calendar to plan for days off, but this monthly calendar will let you see more into the actual activities and skills we will be working on together for that month like holiday themed activities.
Of course, along with all these methods, parents are always welcome to request a meeting over the phone or in person when they’d like.
-
What meals are provided?
We provide one large snack a day. Breakfast is to be eaten before arriving to school. If you would like your child to have lunch before returning home you are welcome to send them with a lunch box, we will have a full kitchen to store and heat up whatever is sent. Examples of snacks will include breads, fruits, and vegetables, many of which will come from our garden! They will usually be seasonal and connect back to our lessons.
-
What holidays does The Crawford School close for?
